Pets What can I do about barking dogs or unrulely neighborhood animals? Working with your neighbor to resolve the issue is always the best option, it promotes many of the ideals we cherish in the Highland Neighborhood. We understand that this is not always an option, and in those circumstances, you are able to file a City Code Violation. Report City Code Violations
Pets I've lost or found a pet, what should I do next? Visit the Pets URL provided to see the best ways to reach your neighbors. Highland Neighborhood Pets Page
Safety What can I do to request street lighting service/maintenance for my street?  Contact the Austin Energy Illumination Group at (512) 505-7617 or by email at lightingrepair@austinenergy.com for all your street lighting needs. More information can be found at the following URL.  Austin Energy - Street Lighting
Safety What can I do to get the city to step in to enforce the cleanup of derelict properties and/or excessive trash on my street?  According to the City of Austin Code Enforcement: Austin residents may not accumulate garbage, rubbish, brush, filth, carrion or any other unsightly, objectionable or unwholesome matter on their property. In addition, you may not store any material on a vacant lot. To report the issue, call 3-1-1, or use the link to the right to file a report online.  City of Austin - Code Enforcement Online Form
Safety What can I do to report speeding problems in my area?  The City of Austin has a Traffic Calming program; however, as of June 2009, it has no funding. Calling in and requesting a traffic study and making people aware of the problem is more or less the only legal course of action you can do; however, there isn't a limit on the number of times you can call in, so get your neighbors to join in and call as well. More unique names is better than 1 name calling multiple times. The URL for more information on this program has been provided. City of Austin - Traffic Calming Program
